Upon completion of the four-year DER Chemistry program, more than 90% of graduates go on to pursue a Ph.D.
A significant number then pursue careers in the civil service.
- In higher education: associate professors and full professors
- In research institutions: research fellows and research directors
- In secondary education: certified teachers in preparatory classes for the grandes écoles, BTS programs, IUTs, universities, and engineering schools
Some students turn to the business and industrial sectors: research and development in large companies or starting their own startups.
Some students also pursue executive careers by preparing for competitive exams to join the major civil service corps: Mines, Ponts, Eaux et Forêts, or DGA.
